The classrooms and JNPAT Administration and Ākonga Support are all located at Hangar 8, 142 Aerodrome Road, Mount Maunganui. This is where all our first day students will be welcomed for Orientation / Induction day. Our onsite practical learning will be carried out at Tauranga Airport with our JNPAT instructors.
When is the Ramp Handling Certificate offered to new learners?
The there are two intakes for the New Zealand Certificate in Aviation, Ground Handling (Ramp Operations strand). The first intake for 2024 starts early February 2024, the second in the second half of 2024. Register your interest or contact us for move information
If my training will be at a real airport, will it be safe?
Yes. All students will be required to go through a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Induction and Orientation on their first day. This will be run by JNPAT's Health and Safety manager.
On successful completion of this Induction, all students will receive a Student Identification (ID) card and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). All students must have both an ID card and PPE before going into the airport environment for practical learning. Students will always be accompanied by a qualified JNPAT instructor.
Can I get student support for learning, study and general support when I study with JNPAT?
Absolutely! JNPAT has its very own student support representative whose primary role is to be there for our JNPAT students. Our Ākonga Support & Cultural Navigator is with us to support our unique, fun and inclusive JNPAT student whānau. We are a team and not one person is to be overlooked.
In addition, our Ākonga Support and JNPAT instructors have many resources to direct you to, to assist, improve and develop your learning. We recognise that each and every one of us comes from different background bubbles filled with their own beliefs, ideas, approaches, skills and knowledge. These bubbles make the JNPAT whānau.
Can my first year of study be free? Or, can I get a student loan?
Please speak to our JNPAT Administrator through the Contact page with all application and enrolment concerns.
