Will Covid affect JNP Aviation Training courses?
JNP Aviation Training is a registered PTE and as such follows the Ministry of Education's | Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga recommendations and regulations pertaining to Covid and the vaccinations. The Ministry has set up an information page for whānau, communities and families called the Bulletins | He Panui - https://bulletins.education.govt.nz/
JNPAT staff will provide you with all the up-to-date information you need concerning Covid upon receiving your application or following any expression of interest or query.
Where is JNPAT Aviation Training located?
The classrooms and JNPAT Administration and Ākonga Support are all located at Hangar 8, Aerodrome Road, Mount Maunganui. This is where all our first day students will be welcomed for Orientation / Induction day. Our onsite practical learning will be carried out at Tauranga Airport with our JNPAT instructors.
When is the Ramp Handling Certificate offered to new learners?
The there are two intakes for the New Zealand Certificate in Aviation, Ground Handling (Ramp Operations strand). The first starts early February 2023. The second will run after the scholl holidays in July 2023. The Certificate is currently offered to employees in aviation for 2022.
If some of our training will be at a real airport, will it be safe?
Yes. All students will be required to go through a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Induction and Orientation on their first day. This will be run by JNPAT's Health and Safety manager. On successful completion of this Induction, all students will receive a Student Identification (ID) card and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). All students must have both an ID card and PPE before going into the airport environment for practical learning. Students will always be accompanied by a qualified JNPAT instructor.
Can I get student support for learning, study and general support when I study with JNPAT?
Absolutely! JNPAT has its very own student support representative whose primary role is to be there for our JNPAT students. Our Ākonga Support & Cultural Navigator is with us to support our unique, fun and inclusive JNPAT student whānau. We are a team and not one person is to be overlooked. In addition, our Ākonga Support and JNPAT instructors have many resources to direct you to, to assist, improve and develop your learning. We recognise that each and every one of us comes from different background bubbles filled with their own beliefs, ideas, approaches, skills and knowledge. These bubbles make the JNPAT whānau.
Can my first year of study be free? Or, can I get a student loan?
JNPAT is a brand new, one of a kind aviation training school which is very exciting as there is no other aviation school offering New Zealand Certificates in aviation in the whole of New Zealand. However, because we are new we are not TEC funded yet and cannot provide you with the access to a fees free year, or student loans and allowances. Please speak to our JNPAT Administrator through the Contact page with any other application and enrolment concerns.
